This week, Gene and Chris dig right in talking about how FUNimation and other companies can put in cool but low cost extras into anime box sets to justify their high prices. From there, we talk about Rockstar Games taking an unqualified jab at anime and then our main topic, old anime that has shaped the current and future of anime. And even some commentary on how America is starting on making anime adaptations of older anime rather then series that are more recent.
After our usual segments, we dig into release spotlight and talk about an unsung Shonen Jump property, one of the best anime ever made, and a reason why H-Games don’t usually make good main stream anime.
We then review Astro Boy, while clearly for kids, we were rather impressed with certain parts of the movie. Listen in as we delve into realms of how an old anime can still be good 40 something odd years later.
