Thats right there is NO SHAFT this week in preparation for our 100th episode. But make yourself a part of the action! Nonetheless, while the majority of the show is being planned out with special topics and subjects. This doesn’t mean you still can’t participate.
Send in email to our email address with written thoughts or audio thoughts regarding our 100th episode. Something like a favorite SHAFT moment, or favorite topic or anything else you want to contribute! Don’t forget the geek line if you just simply want to call in!
Enter our ‘Mashup Contest’. The mashup contest consists of someone sending in their minute to five minute compilation of SHAFT moments. Take some of the goofy things we’ve said, take ‘em out of context and have fun with it!
We’ll also be putting together some Full Series Reviews. Magical Shopping Aracade Abenobashi and Full Metal Panic: Fumofuu are the reviews we have up next.
In a recent news bite from ICv2 and ANN, Best Buy is apparently trying a new strategy in regards to anime. Best Buy stores with ‘historically good sales with anime’ will continue its current anime selection, however over 460 stores will only carry the best selling and top tier anime in their selection.
In addition, anime will be divided into classes which certain stores will carry in order to better organize this change.
Many anime distributors are worried about this change to their already niche style market however they aren’t the only ones being left in the cold as all DVD’s are being effected in this manner.
The good news is, if you live near one of these stores, you can cash in and get some anime on the cheap. Anything not an ‘A-list’ title will be on clearance at 50% below retail.
Check out the full article, complete with a list of stores that are effected.
Due to some home problems that are now solved SHAFT episode 97 will take place tomorrow (wednesday the 4th) instead of today (tuesday the 3rd). Sorry about the trouble.
