Fire Emblem Footprint Experience
Now I may not be the biggest Fire Emblem fan… the closest I’ve gotten to playing Fire Emblem is always picking Marth in Super Smash Bros. Brawl but this certainly strikes my fancy now that its been brought to my attention.
Nintendo debuted the ‘Fire Emblem Footprint Experience’ at Anime Central this past weekend to much success in order to promote the Fire Emblem franchise, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the Nintendo DS(good game actually). Its a set up display of the Fire Emblem universe brought to life and its really cool.
If you didn’t get the chance to check it out at Anime Central, fear not… Anime Boston is on the tour and you’ll get the chance to check it out there. As will we. Also expect us to bring this back up on the show when we have Angelo back as he is more of a Fire Emblem fan then I am…. Matt too.. lets not forget the Matt.

This week Gene and Chris jump right into the fray with some interesting concerns about con season. Like the blight and the zombie uprising… the important stuff.
Then, they answer a very interesting email with the funniest subject line ever. After they talk about the recent bankruptcy of Central Park Media, while its not a surprise… its sad to see another company that has brought good anime to our shores go under.
After they just riff about anime for a while. From Air Gear to K-On they have something to say about everything.
Next, they talk about how Warner Bros. would fair with their newly acquired Death Note license and what they would have to do to bring in so the fans and non fans alike would enjoy it. Plus they talk about Sony and their Blood: The Last Vampire license.
After a steam powered release spotlight, they get down to reviewing Death Note: L Change the WorLd. This movie proves that focus on a different main character can lead to great things, no matter how mediocre the plot at large and other characters around him are.

Gene and Chris take to the mound in this episode of SHAFT leading off with their recent trip to the book store and certain manga related items that had us at the least interested.
Next up to bat, was an email from over the pond talking about the London MCM Expo.
Batting cleanup is our main topic of what anime fans really want from tangible extras like statues, figures and t-shirts to non-tangible extras like bloopers, dub audition tracks, and japanese interviews.
After our break, we hit the field with release spotlight and recommend some great titles this week. Though we get beaned with a ball and make some bad other country jokes… about baseball… and stuff.
And our baseball references really take a seventh inning stretch as we review the sports anime, Big Windup. Enjoyable subject matter and character design including a great dub give you a great hit, but poor character advancement and a lacking soundtrack makes this only a ground rule double instead of a full on homerun. But it fills the void of sports anime we’re not seeing.
