We all know the rumorish news that Production IG had been allowed to pitch off the rights to make a Ghost in the Shell live action movie and we have a winner: Dreamworks.
While some of the names on the project give us hope, we’ll have to see how the rest of the anime live actions work out before passing and judgments.
It would appear there’s a new Appleseed TV series in the works. A pre-release announcement has been made with an official announcement to be made on March 30th. The original CGI Appleseed movie was released in 2006 and its sequel Appleseed: Ex Machina is scheduled for a US DVD release on Tuesday. This will be based upon the original Appleseed created by Masamune Shirow.
It would appear that 20th Century Fox has delayed Dragonball’s live action release until April 2009. Making it the year the oktau cry, as now in addition to Akira(Live Action) and Astro Boy(CGI) we will also have Dragonball. This marks Speed Racer as the only live action US adaptation coming to the big screen this year.
20th Century Fox has pushed back the studios’ big screen Dragonball adaptation from August 15, 2008 to April 3, 2009. On the old date, it was facing The International, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Tropic Thunder and Wild Child, while it is currently by itself on the new date.
