This just seems right for some reason. Don’t ask me why. And yes, its fairly worksafe.

First I would like to say that i remembered why i don’t watch Anime on TV anymore … they freaking EDIT IT AND FREAKING CUT STUFF OUT FOR TIME!!!! …. ok got that out of the way but other than that … OK i hated how they FAST FORWARDED the episode the animation was Terrible on the TV because of the freaking Network Station … Although i am sure the DVD’s are good i watched for the voice acting.
Kyle Hebert as Kamina at first i thought was a big mistake, but when i was listening i could tell that this guy can pull off a great Kamina as in Emotional and moving but his Voice needs to sound more Manly and less like a child.
Now i must Applaud Yuri Lowenthal as Simon, he does an amazing job of bringing such emotion and strength to this character and of Course Simon is probably my Favorite Character in Anime.
Wow surprise surprise Michelle Ruff can actually act, i don’t know how but she can pull of Yoko Ritona pretty good, way better than her Rukia (Bleach) voice.
Now this guy is just “Fabulous”, Steven Blum plays the voice of Leeron who is the the ace Mechanic of the whole series and really really makes him sound Gay, but the only thing is he does it SO WELL!!! Its funny much more entertaining than the original.
All in all most things to complain about are the translations itself like TEAM GURREN instead of GURREN BRIGADE …. so whats DAI-GURREN BRIGADE gonna be ??? The super Awesome Team Gurren ?? God i hope not and the Pronunciation of Lord Genome (Je - no - me) is Key he is also my favorite main character if they call him Genome (G - Gnome) i will be angry.
Other than That buy the DVD’s, don’t watch it on TV you will appreciate it better and this series has a lot of potential as long as they keep translations to a minimum and the voices are good.
ONE MORE RANT ITS NOT CALLED TENGEN TOPPA GURREN LAGANN in the States … now its Just ..
GURREN LAGANN!!!!!
Episode #75: Deadly Weapons! Merge of Revealing Light!!

This week the gang starts off quick by going into why good series aren’t lasting more then 12-13 episodes lately, Gene’s love for Code Geass and despair over voice acting DVD’s.
A trip to the mail bag with a middle eastern email and how Avatar isn’t an anime while Animatrix makes the cut, feedback on our Haruhi full series review, the Cowboy Bebop live action movie, good starter anime movies and some updates from San Diego Comic Con.
From there, the main event. Our, and your, favorite and unique anime weapons. While many familiar armaments made the cut, some of the more obscure make their way into the limelight.
We wrap it up with a two week long release spotlight and a review of Aquarion. This series while bright and beautiful comes off dark and foreboding. With slick animation and an interesting character design, the series has serious flaws in character development and plot execution. Not to mention a repetitive music track and rather disappointing dub track. Still worth checking out or getting as cheap as you can.
And we answer a question or two from the live chatroom audience!
Big thanks to Clint and other fine contributors who make this show better in their own unique and awesome ways!!

Song: Mama - Genesis
Another AMV from the Anime Boston 2008 AMV contest. I actually rather enjoyed this AMV when I saw it at AB this past year. Sadly I don’t believe it won an award. Check it out, its rather awesome.

Now that i have gained 3 exp from fighting the evil Rats who ate my Phone Wire, i am now able to give my impression on Final Fantasy Tactics A2. The A2 i guess stands for Advance 2 since its the sequel to Tactics Advance on the GBA , but this one is on the Nintendo DS.
First off things i dont like, i dont like how the judge system only effects you and not your opponent, it makes me sad that i can’t use the law system to my own advantage to beat the enemy. Although now if you follow the rules the Judge gives you a Buff whether it be +Power or +speed and other fun stuff.
Second i dont like how you dont start with Full Mana at the begining of battle, i usually have to wait 3 turns before i get to use a summoning move or a full area move. So this means my Favorite Red Mage Double Cast and Summoner Moves have been Nerfed
.
But in the end its the captivating Story that keeps me going, that this boy needs to finish writing in the book and for the book and the world of Ivalice to end. Although i have yet to beat this game… i am half way through i enjoy it.

Interesting, if only there were an actual Honda anime. But the coolness here is that the animation was done by Studio 3 degrees C

We’ve seen plans for anime movies in the past… Speed Racer… Dragonball… Astro Boy… Gatchaman… Ghost in the Shell… and now…
Cowboy Bebop.
I for one am not looking forward to the potential train wreck, Hollywood is not exactly building up a lot of faith with fans of the original work and isn’t necessarily bringing in new blood at this rate.
I have two problems up front already. First, the fact that Fox is putting this out(remember, they’re killing Dragonball) and that there is an ‘oath of fidelity’ to the original material. The second part is a load of BS and if you can’t see that then I know a Nigerian prince who would like your bank information.
Check out the fairly condescending article which seems to lump the anime demographic as ‘fanboys’.
Thanks to the numorious people who sent me this article through email, IMs and private tells.

This time around, we took a look at the sensation of Haruhi. As many regular listeners of the show have heard, we’ve found Haruhi rather mediocre in many respects. However, this series is most defiantly getting credit for some of the best visuals ever seen in anime history as well as some excellent music including its rather catchy vocal tracks. Hurting it however is everything else.
The plot takes half the series to set up and once set up throws it out in favor of an Odd Couple comedy style. This is sad as once the series is set up proper, many great ideas come up from many excellent prospectives. Character development is all over the place where Haruhi takes 10 minutes to develop and stays on the same destructive path through out the series and Kyon takes 6 episodes to develop and actually develops slightly more as time goes on. However, they are the lucky ones as other characters do nothing at all such as Nagato. The dub suffers by having A-list talent… not using it. I was rather disappointed in certain mainstays such as Crispan Freeman and Wendee Lee being in this series as they brought nothing new or excellent to the table. As for the rest of the cast, I wasn’t expecting anything. And yes, there is a JYB rant in this episode because he was part of the problem… not to say we didn’t pick on anyone else though.
We go on about this at great length in the episode as well as what others may see in Haruhi, its success in a viral marketplace, what the second Haruhi series may entail, as well as clips… lots and lots of clips. Forgive us if we seem a bit on a ramble in this episode as this was a rather tough series to review.
