Just some site changes you might have noticed. Updated menu and pages describing what we are… which is an anime podcast/blog.

Those of us here at SHAFT are fans of Witchblade and its creator, Michael Turner. However, it was sad to see that on Sunday that Mr. Turner had passed of complications due to cancer. The anime and manga versions of Witchblade were inspired from the original graphic novel work.

Its always sad to hear of news like this.

So here’s a new segment for the site that will get updated every time we find something funny/random relating to Japanese culture, TV and the like.

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone lucky enough in our listener base going to AX 2008 this year? Its coming up in about one week and its exciting here, despite the fact that we’re stuck where we are. As always, the big con of them all seems exciting as always.

And if you’re are unable to go to Anime Expo, how many of our local New England crowd will be heading over to Port Con Maine to live it up in the cool Maine air? Since both cons are taking place the same weekend, I thought it’d be interesting to ask.

I swear, we’ll get back to doing this weekly. And that I’ll stop putting ones up that revolve around Evangelion.

Little Something Random…

Between catching up on 10 different anime series, producing audio content, pwning noobs in the World of Warcraft and having a fun regular ol’ life… Gene Marques, host and producer of Super Happy Anime Fun Time, brings you his unique slant on anime, manga, pop culture(Japanese and America), gaming and other assorted things on the mind of the young mind behind anime’s podcast sensation.

Well here we are, the first editors editorial style column for our little blog here. I figured that since there’s more to me then meets the eye I’d just be all over the place with this particular column. But this time around I thought I’d talk about my thoughts on a few anime series I’m watching, what I thought of Get Smart and The Incredible Hulk, working on other podcasts, why I think the people behind the CG US Astro Boy are on crack and other assorted goodies. So check out the goodness after the break!

Go Behind the Curtain…

This week was all manga all the time, except for the email we took, Gene’s thoughts on Read or Die and Chrono Crusade, Mad Libs and some releases.

Other then that we went into a full on discussion on what we enjoy for manga and what you might enjoy for manga. All manga!

As highly requested as it is, we are doing our big Manga episode this week. However, I thought I’d reach out to the awesome SHAFT community and see if anyone wanted to chime in on the big Manga topic this week.
