Trailers- Live Action Death Note

Viz Media posted up a trailer for Death Note, the live action version of the movie based on the popular anime and manga title.
Oddly enough, the trailer features dubbed voice acting. The pending DVD release will not be dubbed and contain english subtitles.

We hit the mail bag before going into some older anime we’re all watching. While Matt’s Armored Trooper Votum is safe for all ages, Gene’s suggestion of Goldenboy is far more ecchi then he first thought. So keep that in mind if you go tracking it down.
While ADV’s scheduling and lack of Gurren Laggen disappointed us.. news of a Trigun and Gurren Laggen movie brought our spirits right back up. As did news of a new full series of The Slayers. Plus, a CGI remake of Astro Boy?! That and some kiddie anime is hitting Cartoon Network.
Great releases this week including some for Vampire fans, Mech fans, Shoju fans, and fans of good anime on the cheap.
That and Chris reviewed Black Blood Brothers. Is this 12 episode series going to make the cut, or drain your blood dry?
Remember to check the feed for a second, bonus episode of SHAFT in which we do a full series review of FLCL. Expect more of these in the near future. We have a nice list of series to review and we have them ready to go. First half is spoiler free, second half is spoiler central with our thoughts on specific parts and references. And just what is Fooly Cooly anyway?!

So in the lew of all kinds of anime to live action movie news, I thought I’d chime in with something a little more motivating. An anime series to anime movie! The series in question is Trigun.
While news of a Trigun movie dates back to 2005, confirmation came by way of special wrapping on the latest volume of Trigun: Maximum released in Japan. The movie is tentatively called Trigun: The Movie and is also tenatively set for a 2009 release date. It will feature a totally unique story separate from the Trigun anime and manga story lines.
The cover hints at a Vash v. Wolfwood confrontation as being the base for this movie’s plot.
All the details can be found on the original post over at ANN.
