AMV Alert!: Ranma 1/2- 500 Miles
Anime: Ranma 1/2
Song: The Proclaimers- 500 Miles
Honestly one of my personal favorite AMV’s. It centers around Ranma 1/2’s Ryoga Hibiki.
Comments are off for this postAnime Ringtones?

Apparently some marketing guy at Funimation is looking to move up in the world because they suggested to make Fullmetal Alchemist ring tones. Honestly, I like this idea… a lot. Who wouldn’t want their phone to blare out “TINY MINI SKIRTS!!” every time they got a call.
Check out the survey Funimation is taking on the matter… HERE!!

We’re a little more random then usual so bear with us, unless you’re into that sort of thing. Also a little Skype lag helps for A-Part. We throw down a shout out or two from the mail bag in the form of linkage and email.
From there we go on about the Live Action Akira, mention the Format Wars, Blood+ being put to regular Sony releases, Shonen Jump USA moving out Hikaru No Go for Slam Dunk, Code Geass and Lucky Star invade MySpace, and we make fun of a certain children’s card game anime series.
Big time 1st volume releases, a oldie reboxed up, and one of our high favorites get a release this week. And we take a look at a brand new release in Shuffle.

Akira Live Action?!

Read it and weep anime fans, apparently not only are we subjected to a live action Speed Racer and Dragonball, but now a live action Akira is slated for production.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros. are teaming up to bring Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira to the screen as a live action adaptation. No word if DiCaprio will be screaming Kanada! or not, but as one would expect with the translation, things are going to be changed, for what I fear will be the worst.

Funimation put up a trailer for their One Piece movie release for today. While it wasn’t enough to highlight on the show, it was enough to highlight on the blog.

Comments are off for this postEpisode #52- Massive! The Multiplayer Experience!

This week we talked about Funimations big opening announcement with the license of Claymore, two big anime titles getting the MMO treatment in Dragonball and gasp… Hello Kitty! AnimeBoston Concert?! We say yes with the guests they announced. We rounded out our discussion with talk about the preview leaked for Batman: Gotham Knight.
We checked out the mostly Dragonball Z releases of the week, including a double Deal of the Moment mini segment. And we took a look into an Italian based anime(Angelo was excited) in Gunslinger Girl.

Trailer- Batman: Gotham Knight
Not really a trailer but a preview for Batman: Gotham Knight. Think Animatrix, but for Batman. Expect this fun feature to hit DVD shelves right before The Dark Knight. I am totally freaking psyched.

Anime: Dragonball Z
Song: Little Things- Bush
With Dragonball Z Season 4 and the Dragonball Z specials coming out this week I thought I’d take the time to find a Dragonball Z AMV that contains Trunks and doesn’t contain Linkin Park. Enjoy.

We’ve got the second round of guests from our friendly neighborhood anime con. Check it out:
We’re probably going to talk about this on the show but the pillows at AB is quite possibly the one thing that over shadows everything else on the list. Its exciting to see Colleen Clinkenbeard return to AB this year, and equally as exciting to see Aaron Dismuke and Brad Swaile attend this year. But its clear from the already established punditry that AB2008 is a concert zone.
Comments are off for this postEpisode #51- Revival! Creativity Rises From Sandbox!!

In this episode we hit the mail bag to revisit our anime cake discussion and some news on Canadian anime then we talked about Funimation playing vulture to Geneon’s titles, the fact there’s a Bleach TCG.. let alone an expansion set, another podcast’s thought on every anime being DBZ instead of taking demographic marketing in account and american animation being in the sandbox… but we think by choice. We talked about releases of the week, with one kind of crappy one in particular… and its not Naruto.
This week we reviewed something thats not for the little kiddies in Speed Grapher.
