Episode #7- Anime Research! The Prospect of Marketing May Conquer!!

PANEL: Chris(132 Productions), Matt

Anime has been a fan driven commodity, and now commercialization beyond the 4Kids style series with Yu-Gi-Oh underwear and Pokemon fruit snacks. We compare two anime podcasts and discuss the various ways anime is commercialized for better or worse. We also apologize for the background noise in our latest podcast, our studio contained an active Nintendo Wii which we could not move.

Review:

We started part three of a four part series of reviews called First Impressions, which reviews an anime series based on its first episode. We took a look at Solty Rei this week. Gaining a 8.5 out of 10. Take a listen for our indepth coverage of the first episode and at our written post for this week under the show notes.

Extra Drop:

As you may or may not know our panel are avid fans of the World of Warcraft. When we’re not checking out the latest in anime, we’re usually tearing it up in Azeroth and Outland. For the horde! But glancing through YouTube, we found an interesting search when we were checking out cosplay. We found some Leeroy Jenkins cosplay. Complete with name, guild tag and sound bites! Check it out, he even lays down some phat techno beats.
