Episode #5: Release Madness! Ad Campaign of Terror!!

PANEL: Chris(132 Productions)
News:

Apparently Mooninites are terrorists. No more Osama folks, its all about Ignignot and Ur. So yea, an Adult Swim promo campaign freaked out the city of Boston. It screwed up our neck of the woods pretty badly, though anyone who’s ever watched Adult Swim is laughing their heads off at it.(Link)

In other anime news… Funimation had a big week announcing releases for Shuffle, My Santa, and Mushishi. Also plans to release Tsubasa in May. Finally, announcing a new Action Block, called Pow Wasabi, into their Funimation Channel.(Link) Manga Entertainment plans to release Highlander: Vengeance on June 5th and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society on July 3rd. While seemingly confirmed reports came in that the Ghost in the Shell SAC OVA would be on Blu-Ray, these were confirmed false by Manga. Death Note makes big bucks at the Box Office, 5.1 billion yen or 42 million US dollars.(Link) Bandai announces it has Aim for the Top 1 and 2, or Gunbuster, and plans to release them in the near future. (Link) Azumanga Daioh gets an online, albeit Japanese only, viewing from Bandai. (Link) Kiddy Grade apparently is getting another season(Yay). Dr. Slump movie to be released along side One Piece Movie 8. (Link) Finally, Gen Con So Cal, Anime Express and Garden City Anime Festival won’t see the light of day this year. (Link)

Extra Drop:

I’m sure like us you’re sick of seeing good to decent series being butchered by certain anime companies. Well LittleKuriboh is and hes fighting back with Yu-Gi-Oh The Abridged Series. Its a compilation of about 4-6 minutes of footage from an episode of Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters with totally redone dubbing and elements. Basically taking a jab at the series its self, the dubbing company responsible for editing its content and just overall having a good time with it. Fun stuff, check it out. Its on YouTube.
